Capita partners with Sussex Community NHS Trust

Outsourcing firm Capita has agreed a strategic partnership with Sussex Community NHS Trust to help it achieve foundation trust status in 2014.

The five-year agreement will see Capita provide clinical expertise, service design, and health intelligence and reporting.

It aims to transform the Trust’s property and facilities management and services to improve the estate. It also plans to help the Trust’s procurement team to find opportunities for better value from non-salary expenditure.

Capita claims that the partnership will be the first of its kind in the health market.

Emma Pearson, chief executive at Capita Health and Wellbeing, said: “We believe that we can help to genuinely improve outcomes for patients at the same time as helping Sussex Community NHS Trust achieve foundation trust status.”

Jonathan Reid, director of finance at Sussex, added: “We can show we are making steady progress with regard to the quality and sustainability of our patient care services.

“The additional support that Capita can give will be essential in helping us accelerate this progress. In the process it will help underpin our work to achieve NHS foundation trust status in 2014.”
