The Doctors Clinic Group acquires Maitland Medical

Private GP provider The Doctors Clinic Group, which operates from 15 sites in London, has acquired occupational health provider, Maitland Medical, as part of a strategy for nationwide expansion.

The Doctors Clinic Group stated that the acquisition will add to its proposition enabling it to offer services to companies including absence management and ‘fitness for task’ medicals.

The Doctors Clinic Group chief executive Dave Mezher (pictured) said: “Combining The Doctors Clinic Group with Maitland Medical’s capabilities as an occupational health provider gives us a unique world-class proposition to help keep our clients’ employees in the best of health.

“The Doctors Clinic Group now offers over 35 services, ranging from standard GP appointments and screenings to women’s health – such as gynaecology and maternity risk assessment – dermatology, cardiology and even minor surgery. Mental health will be a focus area, with employees having access to psychiatrists, through face-to-face or video appointments. It’s a very exciting time in the company’s development and we look forward to helping patients in a broader way than ever before”.

The Doctors Clinic Group also announced it is opening its first clinic outside central London in central Birmingham and says intends to launch further sites across the UK before the end of the year.

The Doctors Clinic Group offers consultations with private GPs, with a 15-minute slot costing £59.
