Interhealth Canada's UK boss leaves firm

Hugh Risebrow is no longer chief executive of Interhealth Care Services, the UK arm of global healthcare firm Interhealth Canada.

HealthInvestor can reveal Colin Patey is acting as chief executive at the company, although the reasons for Risebrow’s departure are unclear.

Colin Patey is currently senior vice president of InterHealth Canada and previously functioned as chief operating officer of Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Khalifa Medical Center.

Interhealth Canada provides orthopaedic services to NHS patients at treatment centres in Runcorn (The Cheshire and Merseyside NHS Treatment Centre) and at The Droitwich Spa Hospital.

The company is also among the shortlist to takeover the running of Huntingdon's Hinchingbrooke hospital.

If successful, Interhealth Canada would be the first private sector group to run an NHS district general hospital.

The hospital has nearly £40 million historic debt to clear and the winning bidder is likely to be awarded a seven-year franchise.
