Medical recruitment firm DRC Group and private equity house Hamilton Bradshaw, which was founded by Dragons’ Den favourite James Caan, have completed a buy-in management buy-out (BIMBO).
Hamilton Bradshaw combined with DRC’s management, led by chief executive Imraan Ladak, to acquire a 90% stake in the business.
DRC, which provides medical locum staffing solutions in the UK, expects a turnover of around £80 million in 2010.
“The healthcare sector has constant challenges that arise from a changing society, so it is fulfilling to engage with a firm that can deliver medical professionals to help serve on the frontlines of patient care,” said Caan.
Ladak said: “This is a very exciting time for everyone at DRC and the timing could not have been better from a commercial, client or candidate care perspective.
“The NHS have placed a large amount of trust in us and we are certain that this partnership with HB will allow us to deliver in several new sectors whilst continuing to outperform within our core and established areas.”
