Care home developer and operator Avery Healthcare Group has acquired a development site with planning consent for a 63-bedroom care home in Littleover, Derby, for an undisclosed price.

The site was sold by Peveril Homes which is part of construction and development firm Bowmer + Kirkland Group.

Avery Healthcare Group has achieved full planning permission for a care home scheme designed to be light, bright, spacious, and homely with easy access to amenities including dining, lounges, a bistro, cinema, and hairdressing. All ground floor amenity areas and bedrooms will have direct access to external landscaped areas.

Keith Crockett, director at Avery Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to have acquired this highly prominent site in an attractive part of Littleover, Derby. Building on the success of our nearby Derby Heights Care Home, we look forward to developing a modern, state-of-the-art facility that should be ready to welcome residents in the late summer of 2022.  We expect this new home to be a fabulous addition to our portfolio of award-winning Avery care homes.”

The deal was brokered by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Jordan Rundle, associate director at Christie & Co, said: “Avery Healthcare is an award-winning operator and represented an excellent operational fit for the subject development given its presence in the local area already. Operator demand for good-quality care home developments has proven resilient despite the huge challenges faced during the pandemic.”
