Renovo Care Group: Peter Kinsey

Peter Kinsey

Renovo Care Group has appointed Peter Kinsey as its chief executive, taking up the post on 1 March.

Renovo Care Group is an independent provider of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with neurological conditions including acquired brain injury (ABI) and progressive neurological disorders.

Kinsey has more than 35 years’ experience in the sector. He was an executive director in the NHS and worked as a local authority strategic commissioning manager. He later was appointed as chief executive at Care Management Group, a provider supporting people with learning disabilities. This company was sold to AMP Capital and Kinsey led the merger of the business with AMP-owned Regard Partnership to form Achieve together, a large learning disability provider.

After leaving Achieve together, Kinsey worked as a consultant helping organisations improve their ratings with the Care Quality Commission. For the past six months he has been interim chief executive of a care company supporting older people.

Renovo Care Group operates four services: Hollanden Park Hospital in Hildenborough, Kent, Swanborough House in Brighton, Victoria House in Farnborough and the new South Newton hospital near Salisbury.

The company is backed by investment firm Blantyre Capital, which stated it is looking for further investments in the healthcare sector to expand its business and presence in the sector.

Renovo’s current chief executive Philip Smith is stepping down, having overseen the initial phase of the creation of Renovo Care. Smith said: “My tenure as chief executive was meant to be short-term but, two years on, I am delighted to be handing the running of the business to Peter. His experience and skills will ensure Renovo Care is in good hands as it pursues ambitious growth plans

Kinsey said: “Philip has done a fantastic job securing the future of the services and of the facilities through the acquisition by Renovo Care. Renovo Care has exciting plans to expand its services and build on the quality care already offered and I am excited to be joining at such an interesting time and really looking forward to working with the team to achieve the company’s ambitions.”

Recruitment firm Compass Executives advised on Kinsey’s appointment.
