Healthcare Homes Group has acquired two specialist care homes from Cheerhealth: Bedhampton Nursing Home and Specialist Care Unit in Havant, Hampshire and Tenchley Manor in Selsey near Chichester, West Sussex.

Gordon Cochrane, chief executive of Healthcare Homes Group said: “Both of these homes join us from the Cheerhealth organisation who have established well regarded, high-quality services in these two homes that meet a range of specialist care needs for adults and elderly people. Both homes are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission and we could see from our first meetings that the commitment of the staff in the homes to delivering great care closely mirrored the values of our own organisation. Bringing the two homes under the Healthcare Homes brand made perfect sense. All of the existing staff will remain with the homes and services to residents will be unaffected. We look forward to supporting them and helping the teams to develop and grow their services.”

Healthcare Homes Group already operates 45 further homes across East Anglia, the Southeast and the Southwest along with 12 homecare branches.

Healthcare Homes stated it has seen a strong recovery in care home occupancy in recent months with levels significantly ahead of the sector. Cochrane said: “This is an important achievement and a testament to the quality of the services that our teams deliver and their absolute focus on hygiene and safety in what continues to be a challenging time for the sector and a worrying time for families.”
