Digital healthcare provider Livi has acquired agency VIX Digital, which designs digital solutions for the NHS with a focus on integration, stability, ease of use, and continuous improvement.

Livi has worked with VIX Digital for several years, and this acquisition brings the agency’s tech team in-house.

VIX Digital has delivered some of the largest NHS digital transformation programmes in primary, secondary and acute care, including the interoperability foundations that underpin integrated urgent and emergency care, and the technical strategy of NHS 111 online.

Using its Selfcare.Digital platform, VIX Digital provides GP practices with accessible, easy-to-use websites that are integrated with NHS systems, aligned with NHS.UK standards, and capable of handling online transactions.

Over the past few months, VIX Digital’s team has been developing digital pathways in urgent care, designed to provide additional capacity and relieve pressure on the NHS. The new Livi Practice platform allows patients to be booked into a Livi appointment when presenting at a physical urgent treatment centre, or alternatively as a disposition from 111. Livi clinicians will deliver a consultation, ensuring access to patients’ medical records, and will integrate with local providers, pathways and processes.

Juliet Bauer, managing director of Livi, said: “With the release of the new NHSX digital transformation framework, the drive for a significant and effective digital transformation of NHS services is gaining momentum. Having Tony and his team on board further strengthens our expertise and fixes us at the cutting edge of this change, able to offer our NHS partners the most effective digital solutions that work for clinicians and patients.”

VIX Digital’s founder and chief technology officer Tony Yates will join Livi’s executive team. He said: “VIX Digital has a long and successful history of delivering class-leading digital solutions to the NHS, and for a long time we have worked with Livi to improve user experience and ultimately make healthcare more accessible. I believe our developers are among the best in the business, and we’re looking to grow our team as we start this new and exciting chapter as part of Livi.”
