Warrington-headquartered care home operator Sandstone Care Group has acquired Oak Springs Care Home in Wavertree, Liverpool.

Funding for the acquisition was provided by Simply, a Scottish-based property developer with a dedicated care division.

The 74-bed home offers a mix of residential, dementia and early onset dementia care across three floors and becomes the fifth home in the Sandstone Care Group. The home opened in 2015 and employs 72 staff.

Sandstone’s other homes are St Helens Hall, also in Merseyside, Longridge Hall and Fleetwood Hall in Lancashire, and The Oaks in Newtown, Wales.

James Parkin, a director of Sandstone Care Group, said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed the purchase of Oak Springs. It is a well-run home with a strong reputation within the local community. Occupancy levels are currently in excess of 90%. In due course, we will be looking to invest further in the home to ensure that its accommodation and other facilities continue to be of the highest possible standard.”

Richard Shore, a director of Sandstone Care Group, added: “We believe Oak Springs is an excellent addition to our expanding portfolio of care homes. The management team share the same philosophy of ensuring residents receive person-centred care and are shown compassion, dignity and respect at all times.”

Sandstone Care Group stated it is actively looking at several other opportunities in England and Wales to further expand its portfolio.
